Palliative Care Educator

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Palliative Care Educator to join our team. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with our clinical team to design, develop and deliver education programs that reflect current evidence-based palliative care practice.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with the clinical team to identify and meet the education needs of staff and the non-clinical workforce.
  2. Develop and deliver high-quality education programs that reflect current evidence-based palliative care practice.
  3. Mentor and support staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent patient care.
  4. Evaluate and refine education programs and resources to ensure they meet the needs of staff and patients.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse Division 1 with current certification from AHPRA.
  • Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (minimum).
  • Experience working in palliative care with a highly developed understanding of the palliative approach and specialist palliative care.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of an interdisciplinary team.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Post-graduate qualification in education or palliative care.
  • Experience working within a community setting.
  • Experience in the provision of supervision, mentoring, and performance management of staff.
