The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with residents, families, and colleagues. Strong organizational and time management abilities are also essential, ensuring efficient completion of tasks.


Responsibilities

  1. Provide personalized care and support to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.
  2. Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and household chores.
  3. Foster a positive and inclusive environment by promoting social interaction, organizing recreational activities, and encouraging residents' participation.
  4. Monitor and document residents' progress, behaviors, and any significant changes, promptly reporting to the appropriate personnel.
  5. Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  6. Maintain a clean and safe living environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  7. Offer emotional support and crisis intervention when necessary, demonstrating empathy and understanding.

Requirements

  • A Certificate IV or Diploma in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or willingness to enroll.
  • TCI trained (or willing to obtain).
  • WWC Paid Blue Card (or willing to obtain).
  • NDIS Worker Screening Card (or willing to obtain).
  • Australian Federal Police Check (completed within the last 12 months).
  • A current valid driver's license (Green provisional plates or higher).
  • A current First Aid & CPR Certificate (or willing to obtain).
  • A reliable vehicle with comprehensive car insurance.
  • The ability to work within a team with a positive attitude.
  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a residential care setting.
