About the Role

The Disability Support Worker plays a vital role in enhancing the lives of our clients. This includes:

  • Providing emotional support and companionship to individuals and their families.
  • Offering practical assistance with daily tasks, personal care, and administrative duties.
  • Monitoring and supporting healthcare needs, including medication management and temperature checks.
  • Encouraging hobbies and interests to promote overall well-being.
  • Supporting skill development or employment initiatives.
  • Teaching life skills, such as budgeting and financial management.
  • Assisting with meal preparation, shopping, and other daily tasks.
  • Helping access community facilities and participating in group activities.
  • Adapting communication to meet individual needs and preferences.
  • Collaborating with professionals to ensure consistent support and care.
  • Analysing client needs and developing tailored support plans.
  • Building strong relationships and shared interests with the individuals you support.

Work Arrangement

This role requires on-site work at various locations, allowing for diverse experiences and opportunities for growth.

Job Type

A casual position is available, offering flexibility and autonomy in your work arrangements.

Experience

  • Prior experience as a Support Worker (1 year preferred) is essential in this role.

Licence/Certification

  • An Australian Driver's License (preferred) is advantageous for transporting clients.
  • An Australian National Police Check (preferred) ensures we maintain a safe working environment.
  • CERT III or IV in Age Care and Disability (preferred) demonstrates expertise in caring for individuals with complex needs.
  • First Aid Certification (preferred) enhances your ability to respond to emergencies.
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC) (preferred) confirms your suitability to work with vulnerable populations.
  • NDIS Worker's Check (preferred) verifies your registration under the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
