We are seeking a skilled commercial lawyer to join our client on a short-term contract of up to 6 months, with potential for an extension or to move into a permanent position. This role requires a hands-on approach, working closely with the Senior Legal Manager and General Counsel.
The ideal candidate will advise the business on their objectives, providing clear practical legal advice.
Key Responsibilities:- Advise on commercial agreements, dispute resolution, employment law, workplace safety, privacy, competition and regulatory issues.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts with a solutions-focused approach.
- Identify, monitor and mitigate legal and compliance risks; track changes in laws and regulations.
- Design and deliver training on antitrust, anti-corruption, contract management and other legal topics.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
This is a Melbourne-based opportunity with a 3-days onsite / 2-days remote schedule.
You'll work as part of a close-knit legal group that values straightforward advice and strong interpersonal skills.
Requirements:- 5+ years post-qualification experience in mid or top-tier law firms.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communicator able to build rapport with commercial teams and external advisors.
