Workplace Law Specialist Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled specialist in workplace law to join our prominent legal team on a 6-9 month secondment (with the potential to extend). This is an excellent opportunity to apply your expertise in employment law and industrial relations within one of Australia's largest employers.
You'll be working closely with senior leaders, HR, and operational teams on a range of complex workplace matters and projects while helping to manage legal risk and support compliance in a highly regulated space.
- Advise on employment law matters including agreements, awards, terminations, performance management, and investigations
- Navigate complex industrial relations issues, including union engagement and enterprise bargaining
- Draft and review policies, contracts, and dispute correspondence
- Provide practical advice to HR and operational leaders on workforce strategy and compliance
- Assist in responding to claims or regulatory investigations
- Monitor legislative changes and provide updates
- Contribute to training and internal guidance materials
- A qualified Australian legal practitioner with 4-8 years post-admission experience
- A strong background in employment law with demonstrable industrial relations experience
- Previous experience in a reputable law firm or in-house legal function
- Excellent communication and advisory skills with the ability to balance risk and commercial outcomes
- Comfortable working with HR, senior leaders, and external counsel
- Proactive, professional, and adaptable in a fast-paced setting
