Legal Counsel Opportunity

This is a challenging legal role that requires delivering advice across various M&A, project finance, development, construction and operational matters.

  • Lead the Australian legal team, including through the management of at least 3 direct reports.
  • Provide accurate and effective advice on company law, M&A, project finance, development, construction and operational matters.
  • Liaise with national, regional and local authorities, project contract counterparties, joint venture partners and other relevant third parties.
  • Review, negotiate and provide legal assistance in connection with acquisitions/disposals of renewable energy projects and joint ventures in Australia, and the project financing thereof.
  • Review and negotiate all types of development, construction and operations contracts, and provide advice internally on the same.
  • Ensure compliance with project financing arrangements, liaise with lenders and their legal advisers, and prepare and review relevant consents, notifications and other similar documentation as necessary.
  • Manage and maintain the company books for entities in Australia and provide accurate and effective advice on corporate and company secretarial matters.
  • Provide legal assistance in respect of re-organisations, restructurings, business transfers and liquidations affecting entities in Australia.
  • Work closely with external counsel in relation to the above.
  • Commission external legal advice where appropriate, support the development of expertise, and develop internal policies, procedures and precedents.

  • Deliver advice in a clear and concise manner in a fast-paced environment.
  • Advise on new law / regulation / policy changes and how the business can best take advantage of them.
