About Our Audit Risk and Improvement Committee

We are seeking suitably qualified professionals to join our team as Presiding Member and Deputy Presiding Member.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Risk management and accountability for internal controls
  • Reviewing external and internal audits
  • Audit recommendations and implementation of audit findings
  • Financial management reporting and accountability
  • Compliance with laws, regulations, standards, and governance practices

The successful candidates will contribute to good governance and operational excellence in their organisation.

Required skills and experience:

  • Public sector management, preferably in a local government setting
  • Strategic and operational risk management systems and procedures
  • Financial management including budgeting, systems, and processes
  • Local government business controls including understanding internal and external audit of those controls
  • Local government legislative and governance controls including those related to fraud and corruption
  • Information technology systems including business transformations
  • Local government operations such as public asset management strategies
