
Operations Manager

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of technicians in executing preventative maintenance to maximize equipment uptime at Amazon's largest Fulfillment Center (FC) in the Southern Hemisphere and first Amazon Robotics Site in Australia.
This role requires strong leadership skills, as well as the ability to motivate and guide technicians to achieve their goals. The successful candidate will have experience in supervising multi-trade teams in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing/distribution center environment.
The Maintenance Supervisor will be responsible for delivering and maintaining preventive maintenance programs, building compliance programs, including facility and contractor management. They will also act as an ambassador for safety within the team and promote safe working across the site.
- Leadership Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead Maintenance Technicians by motivating, providing guidance and directions to help them achieve their goals.
- Maintenance Program Development
- Deliver and maintain Preventive Maintenance programs, building compliance programs, including facility and contractor management.
- Safety Ambassador
- Act as an ambassador for safety within the team and to promote safe working across the site.
- Facility Management
- Manage maintenance related purchase orders to maximise smooth facility operation and control of critical spare and store inventory to ensure adequate stock levels for maintenance.
- Equipment Installation and Troubleshooting
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot all FC systems including power distribution, automated material handling equipment, conveyance, and all other operational equipment.
- Relationship Building
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organisation, including regular attendance to site leadership meetings and steering committees.
- Formal trade qualification: Cert III In Electrotechnology holding an unrestricted trade licence OR Cert III Mechanical Engineering (Fitter/Turner). Alternatively, equivalent trade qualifications formally recognised in Australia.
- Industrial maintenance experience.
- Leadership experience in supervising multi-trade teams in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing/distribution center environment.
- Experience in mentoring and developing technicians.
- Relevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environments.
- Experience using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks.
- Experience in contractor management.

Salary ranges from $95,000 to $130,000 AUD per year, depending on qualifications and experience, paid in Australian Dollars.
