Strategic Finance Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Finance Manager to join our organization.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the financial operations of our organization, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure systems, insights, and reporting support our continued growth and development.

This is a key leadership role that requires a high degree of autonomy, strategic thinking, and collaboration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, excellent communication skills, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enhance our financial management information system
  • Develop and refine financial systems, processes, and procedures
  • Manage end-to-end operations of the finance team, including accounts payable/receivable, payroll, allowances, and reconciliation
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting and compliance across a diverse range of funded program activities
  • Prepare accurate and insightful monthly reports and financial analyses
  • Partner with program managers to connect operational activity to financial performance
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and track program-level expenditure
  • Oversee end-of-year audits and financial preparation for the AGM
  • Guide the rollout of a new integrated finance and HR system
  • Identify process improvements and lead collaborative change implementation
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of experience in financial management and proven team leadership
  • CA or CPA accreditation is highly desirable
  • A background in not-for-profit, NGO, or complex program funding environments
  • Comfort navigating multiple funding streams and reporting requirements
  • Excellent communication skills - able to translate numbers into operational insight
  • Experience leading system/process improvement and rolling out new platforms
  • Confidence working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders at all levels

We offer a competitive salary starting at $135,000 + super, with flexibility to negotiate depending on experience and for the right person.
