Key Roles and Responsibilities

The Dispatch Coordinator role is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for processing outbound orders, preparing freight for transport, and creating daily schedules for drivers.

You will be required to:

  • Scan and dispatch freight efficiently
  • Perform warehouse duties including stacking and wrapping pallets as required
  • Create air and road consignment notes using computerized and manual systems
  • Lodge and collect freight at air and sea terminals
  • Load and unload delivery vehicles, completing deliveries on occasion
  • Collaborate with management to modify daily routes to accommodate customer needs
  • Prepare daily work schedules and notify drivers of road hazards that may impact their travel time
  • Monitor daily driver logs for errors, violations, working hours and equipment availability
  • Process export and import shipments effectively
Key Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • 2-3 years of experience in warehousing and logistics
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service experience in a fast-paced environment
  • A current forklift license or willingness to obtain one
  • A certificate in Warehousing & Distribution and/or experience in 3PL warehouse and freight forwarding will be highly regarded
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently
  • Experience using dispatch software is highly desirable
