Senior Commercial Manager

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Director to join our organisation and lead the commercial support function for a joint venture. The role will be responsible for managing all contractual, financial and project controls aspects of a 10-year program of capital works and maintenance services.
The successful candidate will be accountable for ensuring key obligations and objectives are met and complied with at a project, program and organisational level.
You will lead a large team comprising contracts management, finance and project controls, and be responsible for:
- Managing JV Board Secretariat
- Member of the JV Senior Leadership Team (effective second-in-command to the Program Director)
- Overseeing program-wide time and cost control, monthly forecasting and preparation of monthly reporting
- Using commercial negotiation skills to successfully resolve contractual issues
- Proactively responding to changes in client needs and expectations and developing collaborative relationships formed on trust
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in quantity surveying, commercial law, construction management, business management, engineering or a related discipline
- Comprehensive knowledge of major project/program commercial requirements based on firsthand experience working for a large construction contractor
- Sound knowledge in the application of the NEC4 suite of contracts an advantage
- Firsthand experience with joint venture enterprises an advantage
