Senior Geotechnical Engineer Job Description

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering milestone projects and shaping the future of infrastructure in NSW and across Australia.

This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects including state significant transport infrastructure, tunnels, and dams across Australia.

  • Lead medium to large-scale geotechnical projects across Sydney and New South Wales, with opportunities to contribute to national and international initiatives.
  • Analyse and interpret geotechnical data to develop practical, commercially viable solutions.
  • Undertake or oversee geotechnical assessments in areas such as tunnels, dams, slope stability, remediation, footings, foundation treatments, and ground retention systems.
  • Prepare and review technical proposals and reports to ensure high-quality project documentation.
  • Engage with clients throughout the pursuit, tendering, and delivery phases of projects, while also supporting business development activities.
  • Provide leadership and technical mentoring to junior engineers, fostering team capability and professional growth.
Requirements:
  • Relevant qualifications in geotechnical engineering, with post-graduate study advantageous.
  • At least 7 years' experience in geotechnical consulting and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong skills in investigation, interpretation, design, and delivery of geotechnical solutions.
  • Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, prioritise tasks, and manage projects independently.
  • Excellent client collaboration, project management, and analytical skills using standard industry methods.
