Geotechnical Engineer Role

We are seeking a skilled Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining and interpreting geotechnical instrumentation used to assess ground conditions, slope stability and structural performance.

The role involves working closely with field teams and geotechnical specialists to ensure accurate data collection, timely reporting and effective risk mitigation strategies.

Our projects span various sectors including mining, civil, renewables, dams and hydropower and transport infrastructure offering opportunities to innovate, collaborate and grow in a role with real impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and oversee installation of geotechnical instruments in the field (e.g., piezometers, inclinometers, extensometers).
  • Perform regular data collection, validation and analysis.
  • Interpret monitoring results to assess ground and structural behaviour.
  • Generate reports and provide geotechnical input to project teams.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in the field.
  • Collaborate with design, construction and operations teams to support decision-making.
Requirements
  • A degree in geotechnical or civil engineering or similar qualification.
  • Experience in geotechnical engineering and instrumentation and monitoring systems is preferred but not essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Personal time management and project management capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and reporting abilities.
  • You will also have enthusiasm and flexibility to travel (remote areas and interstate), strong collaboration skills along with the confidence to work individually when required.
