Housing Officer Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Housing Officer to join our team at Empire Group. As a key member of our Housing Service Centre, you will provide exceptional customer service and support to individuals with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customers' inquiries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct customer interviews and assessments to determine eligibility for social housing and private housing assistance.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer and property information using Microsoft Suite and internal IT systems.
  • Manage tenancy arrangements, allocations, and changes, ensuring compliance with departmental policies.
  • Conduct home visits to properties and investigate tenancy disputes and complaints.
  • Manage property maintenance and conduct property inspections.
  • Monitor rent and maintenance arrears, and facilitate payment arrangements and collections.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to empathize with customers.
  • Proven customer service experience, with a strong track record of providing high-quality service.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and the ability to quickly learn additional IT systems.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • High confidentiality, empathy, and resilience to deal with customers in distress.
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • National Criminal History check required prior to placement.
  • Driver's License.
