Housing Officer Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Housing Officer to join our team at Empire Group. As a key member of our Housing Service Centre, you will provide exceptional customer service and support to individuals with complex needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide advice on tenancy and property management services
  • Assess and process new social housing and private housing assistance applications
  • Maintain accurate customer and property records using Microsoft Suite and internal IT systems
  • Manage tenancy arrangements, allocations, and changes
  • Conduct home visits and investigate tenancy disputes and complaints
  • Manage property maintenance and conduct property inspections
  • Monitor rent and maintenance arrears, rent assessments, and payment arrangements

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven customer service experience, particularly in a face-to-face setting
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn additional IT systems
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Confidentiality, empathy, and resilience to deal with people in distress
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • National Criminal History check and driver's license
