About the Role

The Support Worker position at Challenge Community Services is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of individuals with disabilities. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting clients with skill development and enriching their lives through engaging activities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing individualized support to clients with disabilities, focusing on skill development and enhancing their quality of life.
  • Engaging clients in creative activities, such as cooking, music, crafts, leisure sports, reading, and singing.
  • Assisting clients with daily living tasks, including personal care and mobility.
  • Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement client-centered plans.
  • Providing in-home support for clients, which may require working afternoon and night shifts.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Resilience and self-assurance, with the capacity to work with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Flexibility, with availability for shift work, sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • A valid Australian Driver's License, Working With Children Check, and NSW NDIS Workers Screening Check.
  • Able to pass a National Criminal History Check.
  • Full COVID vaccination status.
  • Experience working with high-needs Disability clients.
  • Certificate III or IV in Disability Support or equivalent (desirable).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) processes (desirable).
