Job Summary

Lifestyle Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Disability Support Professional to join our team in Argenton. As a Support Worker in our accommodation services, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mentor and support customers in developing their personal interests and skills, promoting independence and self-advocacy.
  • Coach customers in independent living skills, such as cooking, domestic, and social skills, to enhance their quality of life.
  • Administer medication and adhere to individual support plans, ensuring the highest level of care and safety.
  • Document clear, concise, and factual handover notes and incident reports, maintaining accurate records and facilitating effective communication.
  • Provide personal care, including toileting, showering, feeding, and dressing, when required, with dignity and respect.
  • Facilitate customers' engagement with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities.
Requirements
  • Be willing to work a variety of shifts, including overnights and weekends, to meet the needs of our customers.
  • Develop versatile communication skills, including the ability to interact with both verbal and non-verbal customers, to ensure effective support and care.
  • Hold a current Australian Driver's License, as this is a mandatory requirement for the role.
  • Obtain or hold a current NDIS Worker Screening Clearance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Hold a current First Aid Certificate, HLTAID011, to provide emergency care and support.
  • Meet the minimum requirement of two doses of Covid-19 Vaccinations, prioritizing the health and safety of our customers and staff.
  • Hold formal qualifications in Disability, Community Services, or similar, which would be advantageous in this role.
