About the Opportunity

This is an exciting chance to join a leading Australian privately owned Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) company that specializes in delivering major projects across infrastructure, resources, energy, and renewables. They have a strong focus on solar and hydrogen, with groundbreaking, first-of-their-kind projects currently underway.

As a key member of the Senior Leadership team and reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the Pre-Contracts Manager will oversee a team of 6, including Estimators and a Bid Coordinator. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating, leading, and managing the end-to-end tender/bid process. This will involve a diverse range of projects, including infrastructure, resources, and defense, with a primary focus on the renewables sector – solar and hydrogen.

About You

You will be a seasoned professional with experience working in the construction industry, ideally in a Senior Estimator, Pre-contracts Manager, or Commercial Manager role. While experience in renewables, such as solar, is desirable, it is not essential. You will have a proven track record of managing a pre-contract or estimating team and possess excellent leadership skills. You will thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and be driven to exceed expectations.

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Reviewing and executing bids/tenders and providing submissions
  • Managing multiple tenders concurrently
  • Contract negotiation and networking
  • Proficiency in estimating software such as Expert Estimation, CostX, and/or ProEst
