The Role

We are seeking a skilled Pre-Contracts Manager to lead our pre-contract activities, ensuring seamless project delivery and developing winning bid strategies.

This role requires a hands-on approach to bid preparation, management, and client engagement. You will be responsible for formulating and implementing effective bid strategies, overseeing all aspects of bid preparation and management, and managing resources to ensure full utilisation and efficiency in the bidding process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Bid Strategy Development: Develop and implement bid strategies that align with client requirements and enhance McConnell Dowell Constructors' competitive positioning.
  • Governance Oversight: Ensure all pre-contract activities comply with internal policies, industry regulations, and governance standards.
  • Bid Preparation & Management: Oversee all aspects of bid preparation and management, ensuring timely, comprehensive submissions that meet client expectations.
  • Client Engagement: Act as the primary liaison with clients during the pre-contract phase, building strong relationships and addressing inquiries or concerns.
  • Resource Oversight: Manage pre-contract resources to optimise utilisation and efficiency in the bidding process.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in pre-contract management or a similar role in a Construction environment with a strong client-facing component.
  • Excellent understanding of commercial principles, risk management, and tendering processes.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Salary and Benefits

We estimate the salary range for this role to be around AU$120,000 - AU$150,000 per annum, depending on experience.
