Job Summary

As a Community Fire Protection Specialist with NSW Government, you will play a vital role in protecting people, property and the environment in your local community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of duties including community fire safety work, attending fires and other emergencies such as motor vehicle accidents or chemical hazards, community education on fire prevention and safety for school children, senior citizens and local businesses, and collaboration with other emergency services such as NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service and NSW Police.

We are seeking an individual who is team oriented, community-focused, adaptable, reliable and has availability across weekdays and/or weekends, including day and/or night work. In order to respond promptly to emergency incidents, you must live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake community fire safety work to prevent fires and protect lives and property.
  • Attend fires and other emergencies, providing assistance as required.
  • Conduct community education sessions on fire prevention and safety for various groups.
  • Collaborate with other emergency services to ensure effective response to emergencies.


Requirements:
  • A valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1).
  • Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
  • Live and/or work within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station.


What We Offer:
Competitive salary: $78.28 per fortnight base retainer + $33.14 per hour for incident and drill attendance. Comprehensive training program covering firefighting and rescue skills, basic life support, rope work, power tool use and community engagement skills.
