About the Role

As a Community Fire Protection Specialist, you will work within a team to provide critical services to your community, protecting life, property, and the environment.

Job Description

The role involves undertaking a wide range of duties, including community fire safety work, attending fires and other emergencies, and collaborating with other emergency services. You will be responsible for providing education on fire prevention and safety to various groups, including school children, senior citizens, and local businesses.

You will also be required to attend incidents, training sessions, and community safety and education activities, and be paid accordingly.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A valid NSW Driver's Licence (minimum P1)
  • Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency
  • Living and/or working within a reasonable distance of the FRNSW Fire Station
Benefits

As a Community Fire Protection Specialist, you will have the opportunity to develop new skills and knowledge through ongoing training. This includes basic life support, rope work, power tool use, and community engagement skills.

You will be expected to meet certain availability and attendance requirements, including at least 33% of all calls over a six-month period and a minimum of 80% of all calls received by the brigade during compulsory availability in any four-week period.
