About John Holland

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Sustainability Lead to join our team in Regional NSW.

As an Environmental Sustainability Lead, you will be responsible for leading and supporting others to facilitate environment and sustainability deliverables for the project.

You will coordinate and provide day-to-day specialist environmental and sustainability support to stakeholders, providing guidance, diligence, consistency, and discipline to business leaders to drive a culture of best practice.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • IDentifying and effectively managing environmental and sustainability risk
  • Embedding sustainability and environmental requirements into the design and procurement process and communicating accountabilities to the project team
  • Supporting the tender process by providing environmental and sustainability technical input for projects under development
  • Liaising with government bodies and professional organisations on environmental and sustainability matters
  • Establishing, monitoring, and reporting on key environmental and sustainability performance objectives and standards for managing project risks and reporting to senior staff members

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • Mixed Environmental and Sustainability experience, but with work history focussed mainly on Environmental Management
  • Specialist environmental and sustainability experience within the Construction industry ideally within a Tier 1 Contractor
  • Experience with SSI/SSD/CSSI developments and accompanying secondary approvals
  • Demonstrated experience managing expert contractors and the technical advice they provide a project/operation
  • Demonstrated experience liaising with client teams and regulators
  • Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering, Science, Sustainability or other associated disciplines
  • S Sound understanding of sustainability and environmental principles and application within the construction industry
  • Understanding of environmental and sustainability management techniques and statutory approval processes

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a diverse and inclusive workplace with opportunities for career growth and development.
