Job Title: Mental Health TrainerWe are seeking a part-time trainer to work with our community-controlled health service. The successful applicant will deliver non-accredited training, certified by Mental Health First Aid Australia (MHFAA), and improve awareness and access to ATSIMHFA in a culturally appropriate manner.The ideal candidate should be either certified as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander MHFA Instructor with MHFAA or have the ability to undertake and complete the ATSIMHFA Train-the-Trainer Course and requirements of certification through MHFAA.Key Responsibilities:
  • Delivering non-accredited ATSIMHFA training to various groups and communities
  • Improving awareness and access to ATSIMHFA in a culturally appropriate manner
  • Working closely with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) and community-controlled suicide prevention networks
  • Participating in evaluation and monitoring activities in collaboration with NACCHO and ACCHOs
  • Ensuring accurate data collection and reporting to MHFAA as required
The successful applicant will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.Requirements:
  • Certification as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander MHFA Instructor with MHFAA
  • Ability to undertake and complete the ATSIMHFA Train-the-Trainer Course and requirements of certification through MHFAA
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team
