We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Victorian Concrete business in Melbourne. As a critical leadership role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring strategies to drive operational excellence. Reporting to the General Manager Concrete, you will focus on improving performance, enhancing product quality, minimizing costs, and exceeding customer service expectations while ensuring a safe working environment.

This permanent, full-time opportunity covers operations across 35 sites, requiring travel to these locations. You will lead a team of 130 staff, including 7 direct Area Manager reports, with a relentless focus on operational safety, compliance, quality, and respect.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop annual budgets and ensure resources are allocated to deliver budgeted targets.
  • Develop and implement strategies to ensure plant and equipment are fully operational and meet legislative requirements.
  • Manage people and assets to match capacity and changes in demand, ensuring optimal cost and productivity levels.
  • Manage customer accounts and key relationships to understand customer needs and deliver superior service.
  • Identify areas for business operations improvement through analysis and benchmarking and implement strategies to drive operational efficiencies.
