Job Overview:

This is a strategically focused leadership role that involves developing and supporting a high-performing team to drive the development and implementation of strategic, value engineering led procurement for engineering services.

The successful candidate will lead the process and people safety improvement program, ensuring all activities are conducted and managed in accordance with agreed Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) practices and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Process and People Safety Improvement Program
  • Ensure all activities are conducted and managed in accordance with agreed HSSE practices and procedures
  • Maintain stock efficiently and safely, establishing a program to minimize wastage associated with ordering, excess stock or hand loss and damage
  • Improve the Maintenance Execution Process by eliminating sources of waste in support of operational excellence and improving the integration of all relevant resources
  • Responsible for enhancing the competitiveness of the Refinery by reducing warehouse and contract labor costs
  • Direct Opex budget accountability
  • Shared responsibility for refinery hydrocarbon margin
  • Safe and efficient Warehouse management including buying the bulk of the refinery's supplies and consumables
  • Ensure a highly engaged Maintenance team by maintaining proactive channels of team communication, achieving a high level of participation in the annual engagement survey, enabling collaborative engagement action planning, creating a culture of recognition and enabling team members to develop and progress
  • First point of contact for workplace relations matters and will play a lead role in the negotiation of enterprise agreements
  • Responsible for Maintenance performance reporting

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualified in Engineering, those with experience in piping or electrical would be looked at favorably but is not essential
  • Strong understanding and experience in Project Management and delivering large multidiscipline programs of works and projects
  • Extensive leadership experience leading technical people and driving change and positive team cultures
  • Ability to understand and review engineering designs and provide input and feedback as and when required
  • Ability to see the vision beyond the next project and understand longer term schedules and where opportunities for better commercial or operational outcomes may exist
  • Experience in the development and implementation of strategic procurement strategies for engineering services
