The role of Orange Door Practitioner at Uniting Limited is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity for an experienced social worker to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable families.

This position requires a high level of skill and expertise in child, youth, and family welfare, as well as a strong understanding of the broader service system referral pathways. As an Orange Door Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering quality, safe, and effective responses to children, young people, and families experiencing family violence.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Actively managing a caseload of complex cases
  • Delivering screening and triage, assessment, crisis responses, service planning, targeted interventions, allocation and coordinated referrals
  • Working collaboratively to support integrated risk assessment and planning
  • Applying for brokerage on behalf of clients when required

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor of Social Work or equivalent as per the mandatory minimum qualification requirements for specialist family violence practitioners
  • Experience, skills, and capabilities in child, youth, and families welfare
  • Well-developed risk assessment and management skills
  • Understanding of the broader service system referral pathways
  • Sound understanding of the MARAM Framework, Best Interests Principles and the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005
  • Valid and current Driver's License
