The ICRC is an independent, impartial and neutral organization based in Switzerland, employing 17'000 people in 90+ countries.

The Mission

We are seeking a professional to work with our team in Canberra and collaborate with the Regional Delegation for the Pacific.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in strategizing, planning and implementing programs to promote International Humanitarian Law.
  • Monitor legislative developments related to IHL in the Pacific region.
  • Research and draft analyses, advice and presentations supporting activities.
  • Deliver presentations on IHL and humanitarian issues to various audiences.
  • Liaise with academic circles regarding pedagogical tools and resources.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent)
  • Post-graduate degree in a relevant field is an asset
  • Knowledge of IHL
  • Experience in research, analysis and synthesis of legal and policy texts
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex issues clearly
  • Demonstrated sense of initiative, autonomy and adaptability
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
