Job Opportunity:

The International Committee of the Red Cross is seeking a professional to work on promoting International Humanitarian Law in the Pacific region.

  • The ideal candidate will assist the Regional Legal Adviser in strategizing, planning and implementing programs and activities related to International Humanitarian Law.
  • Responsibilities include monitoring legislative developments, conducting research and drafting analyses, delivering presentations and assisting with events hosted by the organization.
  • The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the organization's work globally and adhere to the seven Fundamental Principles of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Laws or equivalent
  • Post-graduate degree in a relevant field is an asset
  • Knowledge of International Humanitarian Law
  • Experience in research, analysis and synthesis of legal texts
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated sense of initiative, autonomy, adaptability and attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and computer skills
  • Sense of team spirit and ability to establish cooperative working relationships
