This role involves developing and implementing contract strategies to manage a portfolio of health fund contracts.
The successful candidate will play a key role in operationalising contracts, contributing to departmental planning, and supporting the Contract Management Team in the management and delivery of strategic and operational projects.
Key Responsibilities- Effectively engage and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to prepare for and lead negotiations.
- Develop and execute negotiation strategies, including the design of alternative funding models and assessment of their impacts on the business.
- Liaise with senior management throughout the negotiation and negotiate with payers to agree on commercial terms and contractual clauses that promote the interests and objectives of the organisation while mitigating risks.
- Provide support and coaching to staff to enable the operationalisation of contracts.
- Develop internal mechanisms to support contract implementation, including compliance requirements for ongoing maintenance.
- Prepare and deliver education and training, including quick reference guides for sites.
- Identify, document, and manage key contractual risks throughout the life of the contract.

- Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare models, including their benefits, limitations, and risks, with a focus on operationalising these models in the private healthcare sector.
- Proven experience in negotiating and managing private health insurance contracts, ensuring favourable terms and compliance.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to systematically assess complex problems, draw relevant conclusions, and effectively implement and communicate actionable solutions.
- Demonstrated organisational and time management capabilities, successfully managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy, complemented by robust project execution skills.
