About the Role

The Military Police Central Records Office (MPCRO) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as an Information Management Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and supportive environment, contributing to the effective management of Defence's records and information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and Maintain Records: Ensure the accurate and secure management of physical and electronic records, including digitisation and storage.
  • Conduct Research and Analysis: Utilize various databases and systems, such as Objective and DECMS, to conduct research and provide insights to support Defence's mission.
  • Apply Legislative Frameworks: Work within legislative frameworks, including the Archives Act 1983, Privacy Act 1982, and Freedom of Information Act 1982, to ensure the appropriate management, storage, sharing, and release of information.
  • Respond to Information Requests: Provide timely and accurate responses to requests for Military Police information from internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Strong Organisational Skills: Demonstrate high-level organisational skills, self-drive, and initiative to achieve tasks and business objectives.
  • Computer Literacy: Possess a good level of computer literacy and experience with databases and an eDRMS, preferably Objective and SAP.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
  • Competing Priorities: Understand and manage competing priorities, adjusting when urgent requests arise.
  • Records Management Knowledge: Have knowledge of, or the ability to learn about, records management policies, procedures, and guidelines.
About Our Team

The Knowledge and Intelligence (K&I) Directorate is responsible for providing intelligence products and information management support to the policing aspects of JMPU. The MPCRO is a team of records management specialists who provide support to Military Police and a range of stakeholders to obtain and release information for various purposes.
