Alcohol And Other Drugs Treatment Worker

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our dynamic and growing team in residential centres. As an Alcohol and Other Drugs Treatment Worker, you will provide high-quality support and treatment for individuals seeking hope and change in their lives.

This role involves providing a range of specialised AOD treatment services within the Odyssey NSW Model of Care, including comprehensive and brief assessment, group facilitation, case management, and AOD treatment support.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver coordinated support to clients with complex needs, including those with alcohol and other drugs dependency, mental health issues, and co-existing support needs.

  • A relevant VET qualification or tertiary qualification in a relevant field;
  • Significant experience supporting persons with alcohol and other drugs support needs, mental health support needs, and/or co-existing support needs;
  • Experience in group facilitation and group program delivery;
  • Demonstrable experience working in a team environment to deliver coordinated support;
  • Experience working within a non-government AOD treatment program, including experience working within the Therapeutic Community model;
  • Experience in provision of one-to-one support for people with AOD and/or mental health support needs;
  • Computer literacy, including understanding of MS Office Suite and use of Client Management Systems;
  • Demonstrable communication skills, including report writing and case note writing;
  • Knowledge of evidence-based treatment, harm minimisation, care coordination, and support strategies;
  • A current NSW Driver's License (desirable);
  • Covid Vaccinated;
  • Able to hold or obtain a Criminal History Check and Working With Children clearance for paid employment;
  • Unlimited right to live and work in Australia.
