Substance Support Specialist

We are seeking compassionate and proactive professionals to welcome and support participants through the process of alcohol and other drug withdrawal and residential rehabilitation.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a passion for working with people and a commitment to providing safe and supportive environments.

  • Provide a secure and welcoming environment ensuring participant immediate & basic needs are met.
  • Implement risk management plans including preventative actions and mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate daily programs of activities which model and foster participation & skills.
  • Support participant self-determination, sense of safety and stability.
  • Assist participants to access community supports & services to enhance recovery capital.

Requirements:

  • A minimum Certificate 4 qualification relevant to the work performed and/or Equivalent previous experience in relevant industry, and/or on the job training.
  • Experience working with people with AOD and Co-occurring issues.
  • An AOD Certificate 4 Core unit AOD Skill set or willingness to undertake if required.
  • A current and valid First Aid Certificate is required.
