About the Opportunity

The Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting the Head of Learning and Development by overseeing key project activities across all phases of the project lifecycle. This position involves coordinating major workforce development initiatives with complex stakeholder and regulatory requirements, as well as leading smaller planning and training projects within the broader Workforce Capability Development team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive project plans that align with strategic safety, compliance, and cost-effectiveness goals.
  • Liaise regularly with key stakeholders including L&D managers, specialists, SMEs, and senior leadership to drive project outcomes.
  • Create and deliver scopes of work and project packages within agreed timelines to meet business objectives.
  • Contribute to risk identification and management throughout the project lifecycle to minimize potential impacts.
  • Prepare regular reports, coordinate project reviews, and maintain project performance metrics to inform decision-making.
  • Monitor project progress, analyse variances, and support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize results.
  • Maintain robust project management systems to ensure governance, compliance, and reporting accuracy.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary or Vocational qualifications in a technical or project management discipline or equivalent experience in a professional or L&D environment.
  • 2-5 years' experience in a similar project environment. Preference for Defence industry or similar industry background.
  • Demonstrated practical knowledge of Scheduling, Project Management Methodologies, financial, stakeholder, contractor/consultant and personnel management as applicable to a complex project environment.
  • Experience and proficiency in relevant project management applications, such as MS Project, Jira, SharePoint, MS Excel.
  • High-level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated strong planning, organisation, and multitasking skills with resilience, sound judgment, and a proactive, goal-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to build effective relationships, work collaboratively in teams, and deliver customer-focused outcomes.
