Job Description

As a seasoned investigator, you will lead a team of dedicated professionals within the Child Safeguarding Unit. This pivotal role involves overseeing investigations, providing expert guidance and mentoring to ensure thorough, procedurally fair, and trauma-informed outcomes.

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, driving quality and excellence in investigative practices.
  • Oversee the allocation and progress of complex and historical cases, ensuring seamless collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
  • Drive continuous improvement in safeguarding practices and systems, fostering a culture of safety and respect.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to uphold legislative and policy obligations, including mandatory reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external partners, promoting collaborative working practices and mutual understanding.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in leading investigations, particularly involving vulnerable children and young people.
  • Demonstrated passion for child safety, with a sound understanding of Victorian child safety standards.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risk.
