About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to coordinate injury management services for employees with non-work-related injuries and health conditions.

The primary objective of this role is to support employees in their recovery and ensure a timely, effective return to work, minimizing lost work time while promoting sustainable recovery.

This position involves developing, implementing, and managing recovery at work programs, collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure best practice interventions and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement recovery at work programs to support injured or ill employees in their return to work.
  • Work closely with management teams, HR, and employees to assess fitness for work and ensure timely recovery plans in line with medical advice.
  • Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders such as HR, management teams, and business partners to update on recovery progress and fitness for work.
  • Collaborate with the Claims Officer on income protection matters and ensure employees are informed of their entitlements.
  • Review and monitor ongoing cases, ensuring consistent follow-up with injured staff and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain a confidential case notes database, ensuring all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with privacy regulations.
  • Assist in promoting the benefits of recovery at work and provide education and advice to managers and staff.
  • Support the development of training and awareness programs related to recovery at work and workplace safety.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A proven track record in case management, particularly in the context of non-work-related injuries or health conditions.
  • Strong knowledge of public sector policies related to injury management and the NSW Ambulance workforce awards.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop, coordinate, and implement recovery at work programs and interventions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and educate diverse stakeholder groups.
  • A high level of initiative, flexibility, and problem-solving skills in a dynamic, high-volume work environment.
  • Relevant qualifications in injury management, allied health, or related fields; SIRA accreditation as a Return to Work Coordinator is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in using IT systems for case management and recovery at work administration.
