Sustainability and Compliance Manager

Your Employer Our client is a leading Australian horticultural company, boasting over 7,000 hectares of cultivated land and major production facilities across the nation. As their primary supplier to top food retailers, they have developed a successful business model focusing on five high-growth fresh produce categories.
**Your Role**
In this position, you will join an existing Safety team as a key player in implementing and executing our client's health and safety strategy across their Riverland region's Farm and Packhouse operations. Reporting directly to the Divisional Manager with a dotted line to the National Safety Manager, you will oversee safety compliance systems, contributing significantly to the enhancement of their safety culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with managers and supervisors to foster a safe working environment.
- Maintain training schedules and coordinate company-wide safety training materials.
- Perform incident and hazard reporting, including review, support, investigation, and monitoring.
- Develop WHS-related systems and processes, conducting audits according to agreed timelines.
- Assist with return-to-work processes, providing support to injured workers and associated managers to ensure a safe return-to-work environment.
**About You**
To excel in this role, you will bring a collaborative and practical approach, capable of working with diverse groups and remote sites to develop safety and well-being strategies that influence safety culture. Your ability to employ creative thinking techniques to improve current practices and identify areas for improvement is essential.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum one year of experience in safety management systems.
- Similar experience in farming, processing, or manufacturing.
- Knowledge of relevant safety legislation and codes.
- Demonstrated experience in change management of WHS practices.
- Exposure to Risk Management.
- Experience in return to work (SA) is highly regarded.
