Job Description

This role involves working as part of our friendly Ecology team in the Darwin office. You will be responsible for providing expert advice to clients and colleagues on ecology and biodiversity matters.

The ideal candidate must have a strong understanding of Northern Territory and Northern Australia flora and fauna. This knowledge will enable you to apply your skills effectively in field and office-based tasks.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Designing and leading field survey programs to collect ecological data.
  • Providing support to the Northern Australia ecology and biodiversity team in project delivery, data interpretation, and report reviews.
  • Interpreting and applying environmental legislation to projects across various sectors.
  • Developing technical reports detailing the outcomes of field survey programs and their implications for environmental impact assessment and management.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  1. An appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or a related field.
  2. No less than 9 years' experience in an ecological role within the environmental consulting sector or an equivalent role in Government, including undertaking ecological surveys and report production.
  3. Proven ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  4. Excellent flora and fauna identification skills.

Estimated Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per annum
