Leadership Position: Sports Turf Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sports Turf Manager to lead our team in the planning, maintenance, and renovation of sports grounds. This is a unique opportunity for someone who has a passion for turf management and wants to take their career to the next level.

About the Role:
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing all turf maintenance activities, including mowing, watering, fertilizing, and pest control.
  • They will also be involved in the preparation of sports surfaces for local, regional, and elite sporting events, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • The Sports Turf Manager will work closely with other teams within the organization to ensure that turf-related projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Maintenance of sports grounds, including routine tasks such as mowing, watering, and fertilizing, as well as more complex tasks such as drainage installation and irrigation system repair.
  2. Preparation of sports surfaces for local, regional, and elite sporting events, including applying paint, repairing damage, and ensuring the surface meets the required standards.
  3. Collaboration with other teams to develop and implement turf-related projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required standard.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or degree in Horticulture, Sports Turf Management, or a related area.
  • At least 5 years of experience in sports turf management, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Current Chemical Spraying license and ability to apply chemicals safely and effectively.
