Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Grounds Maintenance professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of turf care and racecourse presentation.

As a flexible team player with a strong customer focus, you will undertake a variety of responsibilities and provide grounds maintenance services to a high standard and meet customer expectations. Ideally, you will have a proven background in a hands-on role from within the grounds maintenance, racecourse, turf management or other relevant industries.

  • Carrying out instructions from senior personnel and leadership groups
  • Sports turf maintenance; various types of mowing, irrigation, treading and track repairs, rail moves, operation of a large range of machinery, pre and post-race day tasks, and any other reasonable horticultural and facility maintenance related tasks
  • Mixing, decanting and spraying chemicals including pesticides, herbicides and fuel
  • Use of a range of horticultural equipment including a blower, hedger, whipper snipper, push mower and ride-mower etc.

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working with boom irrigators would be advantageous but not essential
  • Chemical Users licenses (ACUP) preferred, but not essential
  • Manual Drivers License essential. Light truck license would be well regarded
  • Experience in the grounds maintenance industry
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Experience working outdoors
  • Qualifications in Horticulture (Certificate III in Parks and Gardens preferred), Turf Management or Landscape are an advantage
