Job Overview

As a key member of our global operations team, you will play a pivotal role in coordinating the import function from receipt of an order through to delivery. With a focus on FCL, LCL, and Breakbulk shipments, this position requires strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Liaise with customers and overseas offices to coordinate import enquiries and shipments.
  • Register import shipments in Cyberfreight and coordinate import clearance formalities with customs brokers.
  • Coordinate AQIS inspections and formalities.
  • Monitor progress of customs and quarantine clearance via ICS and communicate the outcome to the customer.
  • Coordinate deliveries of customs released freight to destination and de-hire containers to empty depots.
  • Complete billing process; timely and accurately coding of supplier's invoices and prepare files for handover to accounts as per contracted rate agreements.
  • Assist with tenders and competitive RFQ's.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Participate in general office and warehouse tasks as required.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of customs and freight forwarding terminology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident in conflict resolution.
  • Advanced negotiation and relationship skills.
  • High-level customer service skills.
  • Positive and professional attitude.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
  • High attention to detail and strong planning and organization skills.
  • Ability to priorities tasks effectively in a busy work environment.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Customs ICS and Cyberfreight computer system.
