About the Role
">This position will lead talent development of young footballers and coaches within a balanced environment aligned with the Victorian Talent Development Philosophy.
Key responsibilities include:- Maintaining a safe, inclusive, respectful, and enjoyable work environment for staff and athletes;
- Providing Personal Development Plans via Smartabase;
- Facilitating collaboration between girls' and boys' programs through regular cross-program interactions;
- Providing feedback, vision edits, game and stats analysis, and reporting using platforms like Smartabase, Hudl, and Sportscode;
- Creating a culturally safe environment supporting athletes from diverse backgrounds;
- Leading coaching development, focusing on community and school coaches with support from AFL coaching staff;
- Designing innovative coaching methods to improve fundamentals and decision-making;
- Working with Wellbeing Coordinators to support player welfare and wellness;
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies, including WWCC;
- Supporting integration of boys' and girls' programs;
- Building relationships with local clubs, leagues, and schools to support talent development;
- Staying updated on best practices and identifying future coaching talent;
- Organizing weekly meetings to monitor and plan activities;
- Contributing to Victorian State Academy programs and promoting the AFL talent pathway;
- Developing stakeholder relationships to achieve program goals;
