About the Role

The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC) is the national regulator of Commonwealth subsidised aged care services. As a key member of the Commission's leadership team, the Chief Digital Officer will play a critical role in driving the organisation's digital transformation and strategic digital integration and renewal.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact as a senior executive leader in an organisation with a strong purpose and focus on supporting critical care services to the Australian community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the Commission's digital transformation and strategic digital integration and renewal.
  • Lead and build capability within the Commission's ICT and Digital teams.
  • Develop the ICT and Digital sections to become fully integrated and effective business support functions.
  • Implement strategies and operational processes to optimise business operations and services.
  • Reduce ICT and cyber security risks, improve service and system integration, modernise business practices, and strengthen communication, customer service and service responsiveness within the organisation.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and deliver successful digital transformation projects and build a robust digital ecosystem within a complex public sector organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive digital innovation, champion the use of digital technology and practices, and achieve adoption of these approaches across a business.
  • Demonstrated experience in building Standard Operating Procedures and systems using the Lean Six Sigma framework (or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of and ability to operationalise sound project management principles, effective governance arrangements, and a productive approach to vendor management.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills and ability to effectively manage interpersonal relationships, collaborate with business partners/clients, and communicate with influence and respect.
  • Highly developed leadership and management skills, including the ability to lead a team in a dynamic environment, encourage innovative ideas, build trust, provide support, coach, mentor, and guide teams and emerging leaders, and foster a positive and supportive team culture.
