About the Role

The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is a senior executive leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation, and management of technology infrastructure, systems, and applications for Legal Aid NSW. The successful candidate will set cultural, strategic, and technical direction for the IT Directorate, driving day-to-day service delivery and change agenda in line with the organization's objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the IT Directorate to deliver a technology work program within defined budget and based on business priorities.
  • Develop and implement a digital strategy and enterprise architecture to support the organization's goals.
  • Provide strategic advice to key stakeholders and engage in transparent, collaborative partnerships.
  • Drive cultural, strategic, and technical direction for the IT Directorate, fostering positive relationships with peers, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Balance core service delivery and maintenance with customer-centered transformation and change.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive, strategic relationships with peers, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Proven experience as a CIO or in a similar executive-level technology leadership role.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to align technology strategies with organizational goals.
  • Broad experience of leading large-scale business and IT projects to safe and successful delivery.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the organization's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG.
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and contemporary knowledge and experience in enterprise-level IT infrastructure, systems, applications, and cyber security.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
  • Hold (or be willing to obtain) a valid clearance to work with children (Working with Children Check).
