Job Description

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Payroll & HRIS professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing monthly and casual payrolls through an HR ERP and payroll provider.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the payroll process, including preparation, processing, and checking of permanent, casual, and off-cycle payrolls
  • Work with the payroll provider to ensure timely and accurate internal and external payroll reporting requirements
  • Provide payroll-related data and analysis, including WGEA and Mercer reports
  • Advise employees on their payroll and related matters, such as leave types and benefits
  • Maintain data integrity, testing, and updates in HR systems
  • Main contact point for all payroll-related queries through an employee self-service tool
  • Ensure accurate and timely information to Finance
  • Remain up-to-date on payroll-related employment legislation, including tax, leave, awards, terminations
  • Ensure payroll processes and systems remain aligned

HRIS Systems & Reporting:

  • Ensure that HR systems are accurately maintained, up-to-date, and issues are proactively identified and reported to relevant contacts
  • Ensure organization charts in HR systems and databases are up-to-date on a monthly basis
  • Run and create regular and new reports as needed for HR and internal stakeholders
  • Support the annual pay review process by providing input, reporting, and ensuring data accuracy
  • Act as local Project Manager for global HRIS upgrades and projects
  • Process improvements recommended to Area HRIS Manager and Head of HR
  • Submit payroll data for annual reporting and renewals, e.g., WGEA, WCOM, Salary Continuance insurance

Advice & Administration:

  • Provide advice and respond to queries from employees, e.g., leave, benefits
  • Deal with all payroll-related queries and issues, and work closely with the payroll provider and the Finance team to ensure that all employees are paid correctly and on time
  • Communicate with employees on any payroll-related issues, timely and clear communications on any updates and actions required
  • Manage the system administration of all new starters, leavers, and changes through internal communication channels
  • Advise Managers on payroll-related questions for their teams, e.g., casual award rates, allowances

Qualifications:

  • HRIS system management experience, SAP highly desirable (PA & OM)
  • Experience managing an external provider desirable, ADP desirable
  • Highly organized, able to plan workload ahead to meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal
  • Reporting and analytics experience, with a high level of accuracy, insight, and attention to detail
