Estimator Role Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of challenging projects across numerous tenders in the civil sector valued between $1m-$20m.

Types of projects include government projects, road, streetscaping, landscaping, carparks, and general civil construction. Typical values from $1m - $20m.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Working on tenders with a focus on civil engineering expertise and construction management knowledge
  • Coordinating internal and external resources to ensure timely completion of projects
  • Preparation and submission of tenders that effectively evaluate and review tender and estimating process for cost effectiveness
  • Evaluate / review tender and estimating process for cost effectiveness
  • Tender negotiations with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants
  • Coordinate tender handover to project team ensuring seamless project delivery
  • Prepare budgets based on tender submission and assess and price contract variation orders

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or similar
  • 3+ years' experience on civil construction projects with a project value of $5m to $20m+
  • Proven understanding of construction with a hands-on approach and effective problem-solving abilities
  • High level of commercial acumen and organisation and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
