Swaye Civil is seeking an experienced Civil Estimator to join our team. This full-time role is integral to the success of our construction projects, providing detailed cost estimates and proposals to secure new business opportunities.
What you'll be doing
Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects, including materials, labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs
Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to identify scope and quantify required resources
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to gather accurate pricing information
Develop comprehensive proposals and bid submissions that meet client requirements
Continually monitor and update cost estimates as projects progress
Maintain a database of historical cost data to improve the accuracy of future estimates
Provide input and recommendations to improve estimating processes and procedures
What we're looking for
Minimum 2 years of experience as a Civil Estimator, preferably in the construction industry
Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and equipment
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate cost risks
Proficient in the use of Excel and Bluebeam
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to present complex information effectively
Tertiary qualification in quantity surveying, civil engineering, or a related field is a must
Current drivers licence and industry white card
