About the Role

This position plays a crucial role in the success of the City of Hobart's Bushland Reserve Management Program. As a Fire and Biodiversity Team Member, you will be responsible for delivering effective and efficient field activities to protect and conserve the City's bushland reserves.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Team Leader in the delivery of field activities, including bushland restoration, pest plant and animal management, fuel reduction burning, and wildfire suppression.
  • Regularly update management and administrative systems to ensure accurate reporting of current work programs and required resources.
  • Contribute to the development of policy and plans, service levels, and standards for the City's bushfire and biodiversity management programs.
  • Deliver fire and biodiversity field activities across the City's bushland reserve system, including biodiversity assessment, survey, and monitoring, field data collection, and reporting.
Requirements
  • Qualifications in conservation land management, such as a Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management or equivalent.
  • A current Driver's Licence and a Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People card.
  • A positive, can-do attitude and a desire to work in a friendly team environment.
