About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Coordinator to join our team at the City of Hobart. As a key member of our Fire and Biodiversity Program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and safe execution of our fire and biodiversity management programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and coordinate the operational resources for Fire and Biodiversity, ensuring effective use of personnel, equipment, and facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with the City's safe work procedures and the Work Health and Safety Act at all times, promoting a culture of safety and risk management.
  • Manage data, business operations, reporting, procurement, safety, and other administrative systems related to Fire and Biodiversity Programs, providing accurate and timely information to stakeholders.
  • Assist the Program Leader in collaborating with external agencies on bushfire management issues and actions, fostering strong relationships and a unified approach.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic policies, plans, and service levels for the Fire and Biodiversity Program, aligning with the City's vision and goals.
  • Act as the designated Authorised Officer within Wellington Park, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Coordinate the field implementation of the annual fire and biodiversity program works, ensuring effective delivery and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Diploma or Certificate IV in Natural Resource Management, Fire Ecology, Biodiversity, or a related field, or extensive experience and skills in planning and managing natural resource management and field work programs.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of bushfire and biodiversity operations.
  • Positive attitude, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
