Job Description

The role of an Education Futures Manager is pivotal in helping educational leaders build their Respectful Relationships Education (RRE) expertise. This position demands strategic vision and passion to strengthen RRE in Queensland state schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of RRE professional development initiatives for Queensland state schools' staff aligned to priorities detailed in the Queensland's Plan for the Primary Prevention of Violence Against Women 2024-2028, and the Fourth Action Plan of the Domestic and Family Violence Prevention Strategy 2022-2023 to 2025-26.
  • Provide high-level advice for senior officers to shape policies and procedures that address key issues.
  • Apply expert knowledge of effective RRE to the design, development, and quality assurance of training materials aligned to the curriculum in K-12, Our Watch's RRE Blueprint, Australian Professional Standards, adult learning design principles, and model use of departmental resources.
  • Mentor and inspire a multidisciplinary team working across regions, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability.
  • Continuously monitor, evaluate, report on, and refine activities using data collection tools and mechanisms.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Respectful Relationship Education, Australian Curriculum Version 9 (particularly Health and Physical Education), K-12 Curriculum, assessment and reporting framework, and systemic priorities of RRE, curriculum implementation, and effective pedagogical practices.
  • Proven ability to lead, inspire, and implement state-wide initiatives.
  • A proactive approach to navigate a dynamic environment, respond quickly to changing demands and priorities, and deliver practical, sustainable solutions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and digital literacy skills.
