Senior Mechanical Engineer Role

Job Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the design effort of a team to achieve satisfactory project performance.
  • Detailed design, working with Technical Specialists to ensure specification compliance, technical integrity of design.
  • Develop technical documents required for procurement.
  • Commercial awareness to ensure economic and safe selection of equipment.
  • Liaise with Project Controls personnel.
  • Participation in Model Review, Design Review, HAZID/HAZOP, safety in design, constructability, and safety reviews.
  • Provide construction, pre-commissioning, and commissioning support.
Requirements
  • Experience within a Senior Design Engineer role, within engineering contracting or consultancy organisations in one or more of the following sectors – Oil & Gas, Mining & Minerals, and Infrastructure / Utilities.
  • Proven Australian experience in piping design, including concept development, FEED, and detail design phases, including the piping layout.
  • Proven Australian engineering experience in piping fabrication, construction, and commissioning.
  • Extensive experience in Detailed design, re-design, re-rating of the piping, design modification, alterations to existing plant, Pipe stress analysis, Fluid Induced Vibrations (FIV) analysis, Acoustic Induced Vibration (AIV) analysis.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Knowledge and experience of 3D intelligent design and project delivery systems and procedures, e.g. utilise Navisworks models.
  • Application of brownfield experience and human factors in design.
  • Worked in a multi-tasking environment under time pressures and deadlines.
